About this role:

As Business Development Consultant, you will be responsible for identifying and creating mutually beneficial, strategic relationships on behalf of Youthforce with STEM employers, specifically in relation to the science sector, across London and the South.

Our values are core to all we do at Youthforce, so operating with integrity, credibility and an ability to listen are critical in order to maintain the trust that our clients and apprentices place in us. This is a consultative role, and one that requires you to be out in the field networking and developing partnerships with new and key accounts so that you can spot, generate and nurture opportunities for the creation and fulfilment of apprenticeship vacancies. Our Business Development Consultants carry a target so you will be a tenacious, assertive and solution-focused professional who can manage multiple stakeholders and agendas – while simultaneously demonstrating a natural desire and flair for closing the deal. You will be driven by hitting your target, but not at the expense of all else.

You will need a proven track record of B2B sales and the ambition to grow our market share via a combination of new and repeat business in your target location and field. You will also need to keep your finger on the pulse of both market trends and government policy to demonstrate current awareness of how employers will need to recruit and develop their workforces over the coming years.

Responsibilities Include:

  • To develop long-term client relationships and structured employment environments to promote and secure repeat business
  • To build and execute an effective sales plan that is in line with Youthforce’s strategy, values and targets
  • To support our clients to achieve their business objectives – ensuring that they are satisfied, excited and challenged in the process
  • To ensure that appropriate company brand values are represented and maintained at all times
  • To meet monthly sales targets, while keeping accurate sales records and producing pipeline reports
  • To negotiate sources of funding and develop pricing strategy for clients
  • To create, present and propose solutions, through a variety of methods, as well as respond promptly and appropriately to all inbound leads and enquiries
  • To source, support and manage all sales and marketing assets as directed
  • To conduct employer satisfaction surveys

About you:

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Bring sector experience of apprenticeships and government-funded work-based learning
  • Possess at least two years’ experience in a B2B sales role, displaying strong commercial awareness and a proven track record of meeting targets
  • Demonstrate effective stakeholder management, able to influence and communicate at all levels
  • Be confident in data analytics and using the findings to drive business innovation and growth
  • Balance your ability as a self-starter, managing your own priorities and progress, with working closely with the team across Youthforce
  • Be curious and with a passion for learning new things – and sharing that learning with others
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be enthusiastic, driven, ambitious, with a ‘can-do’ approach
