Kathleen Weber

Katy joined Youthforce in October 2017 having been a lecturer in Chemistry and Biology at a Further Education College in Kent for just over ten years. She has taught on a range of courses ranging from GCSE’s, BTEC Applied Science, Access to Higher Education and HNC/HND Applied Chemistry. She is a strong supporter of vocational courses such as BTEC and enjoys delivering high quality teaching and assessing to young people. Katy has gained good experience of supporting learners with achieving their goals and completing their courses. She has seen many students progress through a number of science courses and onto either university or science related jobs.
Katy is a strong advocate for encouraging women to pursue STEM related careers and as such is a STEM ambassador with STEM.org and Canterbury Christ Church. She is very much a science geek and enjoys anything chemistry or engineering based.

Over the next year Katy will be pursuing ‘Chartered Chemistry’ status with the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Outside of work Katy enjoys Archery and regularly competes in competitions in Kent and around the country. Katy also enjoys travelling and is keen to travel to New Zealand, Canada and Japan.
