Charlene has worked within the apprenticeship sector for over eight years gaining experience in various roles across a variety of different businesses. Sectors that Charlene has supported within the apprenticeship provision to date are Retail, Health and Social Care, Hospitality, Business Administration, IT and Management.
Charlene’s career started in 2006 as an apprentice for a telecommunication company, training firstly in the call centre and then in first line diagnostics.
Next career move was becoming a recruitment advisor at Babcock International in 2011 where Charlene was responsible for supporting and guiding potential new apprentices onto various apprenticeship programmes. The Recruitment advisor role then progressed into a sales focuses role where Charlene was responsible for B2B and B2C interactions with current large accounts and sourcing new business in line with sales KPI’s. Charlene was also responsible for attending and running stands at events to engage with schools, employers, job seekers and stakeholders.
After Charlene’s role was made redundant at Babcock International, Charlene became a training and medication champion for a selection of care companies in her local area, however, Charlene missed the sales and training side of her career that gave the opportunity to interact and support people into apprenticeship and career opportunities.
Charlene has now joined Youthforce to support our mission ‘To change the world through Science and Technology apprenticeships’ and to champion our values in supporting apprentices into real career opportunities.
In Charlene spare time she likes to grow her charity in her Brothers honour registered as Forever Smiling and playing netball for her local team.
