Wage: £17,000 p/a

Brief overview of the role
Eurotest have been operating since 2000 and are a UKAS accredited test laboratory, carrying out tests on concrete, soils and aggregates both in the laboratory and on site in accordance with British and European Standards.
We are seeking to appoint a new trainee materials technician based at our Kettering/Corby laboratory and our Maidenhead, Berkshire laboratory.
We are an accredited materials test laboratory operating in the construction/civil engineering industries.
The position, once trained will be to carry out several different types of tests on concrete, soils and aggregates both in the laboratory and on site. The individual will be able to work well alongside a small team of technicians and have a good knowledge of IT systems being able to book in samples and carry out reporting of results when required.
The technician shall be trained in calibrations of equipment and be expected to maintain the equipment allocated to them.
The successful candidate will have a proficient level of education, a full clean driving licence be punctual, hardworking and with an interest in progressing in the company.

The successful candidate will have a good education at GCSE level, grades in the following are desired but not essential:
- Maths Min C
- English Language Min C
- A science based subject Min C
- An IT based subject Min C
- A full clean driving license (some driving may be required)
Once the apprenticeship is complete the successful applicant could; over time progress to Snr Technician level or potentially move into a more quality system-based role both of which would include good salary enhancements.
Things to consider
There is a physical nature to some of the work carried out such as some heavy lifting of sample bags is required from time to time so the candidate should be fit and able to lift up to 20Kg’s at a time.
Candidates should live within a sensible commuting distance of no more than 45 minutes’ drive from the workplace.
