Vacancy description

Poulten Selfe & Lee Limited is a UK based manufacturer of quality glass capillary viscometers and a range of automatic viscometer systems. We are well established in the worldwide market of viscosity measurement and export world-wide.

Our facilities are located in Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex where the departments include Electronic Assembly, Research & Development, Technical Service Support, Glassblowing, Calibration Laboratory & Polymer Testing Laboratory.

The glass viscometer tubes are produced to the highest standards and all tubes are individually calibrated in our UKAS ISO 17025 accredited laboratory. Our laboratory also calibrates thermometers and reference oils that are used as viscosity standards.

As an apprentice in the laboratory, you will be trained to perform calibration of the various types and sizes of viscometers, oil blending, oil calibration & thermometer calibration. You will also be trained in performance testing of some of the instruments manufactured on site. An example of this is temperature stability test of a Constant Temperature Viscometer Bath.
